The first set of manhundrs had been first introduced by the taming and training of the local apex akinine of the island. It was only then that the Akuunai managed to incoporate such lethal beasts into their hands; molding and shaping only the fittest and strongest of the apex akinine into the effective manhundrs known today. Akuunai manhundrs were mainly used to as either guardians, who stood watch over the slumbering tribe over the nights, or weapons of tribal warfare, trained to kill on command of their masters. Upon being the only known nation to effectively train and use apex akinine as their powerful assets, the Akuunai grew into a powerful nation. For centuries, the empire reigned all across the Isles of Ikuda and well into Volraia, becoming a force of influence. But, like all great empire came the empire's demise; fading back into a small speck with few who still follow the olden ways. There are still a large amount of Akuunai and their manhundrs who still bleed the blood of their ancestors and seek to rebuild their fallen empire and reclaim their title as the claws of black magica.

The Akuunai is an ancient tribe, one of the ancient civilizations on the Isles of Ikuda, and was soon stretched to the deserts of Volraia, the carribeans of Laika, and many other parts of the world that are still considered primitive in the third world era. The Akuunai was to be believed that it, along with many others, followed the religion of black magica and the practical fetish for cannibalism; often consuming the weak of their own. Black magica consists the use of spells, charms, certain artifacts, and the old fashioned placements of curses, hexes, and head manipulation. This age old religion has been commonly mistaken for the work of evil and the worship of The Fallen One, resulting in hateful resent and attacks against the believers. Because of this, the Akuunai began to seek out dangerous apex to help protect them; animals they could easily tame into domestic guardians. First, there were local wild apex akinine, fierce and loyal, but lacked the exact primal ferocity theAkuunai needed. It was only a few years before manhundrs were then brought into the picture.

The Fel Fangs

Somewhere along the line, part of the Akuunai began to stray from their straight forward and direct line of religion, following the more prosperous and self inclined path. They became tools of profession; cut-throats of society, taking the roles of mercenaries, bandits, thieves, and mobsters. They dwell in the riches and fame their abandoned religion frowned upon. Because of this vast difference, the Akuunai were split into two branches, the latter becoming what is known as a Fel Fang, weapon for hire.Keeping consistent with their ancient tradition of the taming of beasts, the  ex Akuunai Fel favored the justiciars of the wild, the akinine. These akinine were trained to know nothing else but the word of their masters and the command to kill. For whatever reason, the Fel decided that only akinine of a dark colored pelt would be make the fitting look of a omnious killer. They are the "Black" of the Akuunai Empire.
