Hexoid
The hexoid are insectoid beastkin. They come from the islands of Zuxin and are the minority race there. Hexoid have an exoskeleton that they use for protection against the elements that would otherwise render them motionless and ravaged. They have highly sensitive skin and are capable of feeling even the slightest of movements. The reason behind their sensitive skin is due to the fact that they are prone to being eaten by larger beastkin or apex predators. Hexoid meat is rich in protein and even vital for some beastkin to survive. Their flesh is highly valuable and is sold within the black market of New Yorleng for a high price. Feasting on a hexoid is said to give one a boost in energy and vitality. The protein of their meat when cooked is not only delicious to the pallet, but also medecinal in nature as it removes most of the toxins that hexoids naturally carry as another defense mechanism and grants temporary immunity to other toxins while gradually treating it. While the hexoid are highly intuitive and receptive to their surroundings, they are prone to fall victim to many, especially the giants of Zuxin which is why they have taken up arms in mastering their choice of combat. The hexoid, like many of the zuxia folk, are prone to master the art of combat and excel in their gift of the blade. The blade may be their choice of weapon, but they are not limited to it and will even use their clear, wafty wings as a weapon.
There are many species of the hexoid, far more than there are of the other beastkin. The estimated number of hexoid reaches into the hundreds with many of them spanning across all over the world. However, because they are hunted for their meat, they primarily take refuge in Zuxin. Like the vermikin that are raskin, the population of hexoid has become a serious problem for the other zuxia who deem the hexoid as pests more than fellow zuxia and often eradicate them with pesticide, a poison solely made for the extermination of the hexoid. But because of their large numbers, there isn't even a dent to their growth. Unlike the raskin, who were given the chance to branch away from their homeland in search of new territory, the hexoid had no choice by to remain where they originated due to predatory war. However, over the years the hexoid have learned to use their numbers to their advantage and seize their right to live against the other zuxia folk. War between they and the luns broke out into a fierce combat that lasted for only about a year before the stubborn luns subsided their pride for the sake of their survival against the amass. They formed a treaty with the hexoid in favor that the hexoid do not demolish their land and lives for the trade of simply exisited, within reasons. Should the hexoid break the treaty, world war will be waged against them for the plight of their extinction. With the treaty came new ways that the hexoid have become beneficial too society. Like the beex who pollinate flowers and trees and provide new green life around the world, or the anox who have become renown architectures for their work of building sturdy housing underground, a feat that rivals even the bauldermin. It is believed that the hexoid first originated from the breeding of a zuxin akin and an insectoid apex, resulting in a half akin half insectoid being. They have round head and large eyes. Their eyes hold many hexagonal shapes or "lens" that help them see and navigate their world on a different level from that of a traditional beastkin. The hexagonal lens can range in numbers from a small number up to thousands. The reason behind their lens gives them an edge on keeping survey of the land wrought with danger to them. They are often slender in build, much more so than the jakun and sport numerous limbs that can be hidden with the use of glamour magica. The build of a hexoid is lithe by default, however, some species like the hurkhex are large and bulky in nature and range from the height of seven feet tall to thirteen. The hexoid are considered to be omivores, meaning that they can and will eat just about anything. Which would explain why their have such high levels of toxicity within their meat and blood. Those who consume everything including the dead are highly suasible to building those infective toxins in their body thus becoming extremely dangerous as a result. This is all apart of their need to survive, however as it would mostly deter those that would otherwise eat them for their succlent meat or harvest their chitin for armor.
