The elderlock are a creation of a Demi-God named Mordacai who, in his pursuit for immortality, began to study and meddle with blood. He first wanted to sire a house of his own with children so that he may reign as a volkari supreme, but was denied this by a kai named Priest. While tampering with his father's blood, he contracted a disease that would slowly eat the cells of his body, leaving him with loss of hair and damaged skin. Because of this, he could not go out in daylight for it would easily burn him. This disease would carry on into the elderlock when he first created the first ten from hundin slaves. Like him, they would contract the cell killing sickness, losing all hair and fur from their body as well as skin akin to boiled flesh. He would teach them how to survive the disease by feeding on the blood of mortals and the abilities that came with sharing the blood of a Demi-God. They were created with abilities non like the other races. They are the only species capable of having the soul affinity strong enough to read the minds of others. This also gives them the special edge of the silver tongue, attributed by the silver coloring of their tongue. (It is said that only the first born of the elderlock were known to feed on the blood of equidus, the blood granting them immunity to diseases and illnesses save for their own). The countless years of blood sucking has rendered their mouths into venomous traps, having a bite force capable of infecting their victim with a corrosive venom that shuts down the body's respiratory systems and corrodes their organs from the inside. The injection of a venomous bite caused by a pure elderlock can last for minutes if not second if it is not treated immediately. Paralysis is also a known side affect from their bite. Though these traits are reserved for the pure bloods of elderlock, half-bloods are also known to carry these traits down from the dominant side of their parents. Drinking one's blood not only satisfies the hunger for some elderlock, but it also regenerates any would be wounds inflicted upon the beastkin, no matter how gravid. This plays well into their pseudo immortality distinction, pure breed or not, but it does not make them immune to death. If an elderlock does not heal themselves within a given time, they will eventually succumb to their fatal wounds die.
