SELECHIIA

image.png

The selechiia beastkin are a race of sharkin that mostly live on land, but also dwell in the water. Although selechiia primarily walk on land, they are still able to survive in the water because of their gills situated on either side of their necks. These gills are vaguely seen when the selechiia are out of the water and are capable of closing shut to prevent them from becoming dehydrated. They have tough, sandpaper-like skin that is suitable to withstand the sun without them drying out. Selechiia can come in a range of different colors from blands of grey to hues of blues and reds. The face of a selechiia closely resembles that of the long lost akin(human) race which was thought to have all died out by the flood of the Fall of Malacath. It would be believed that not all of the akin had been wiped out by the crash, that some would survive and evolve to live in the depths of the alu. Like the akin, selechiia bare short faces with big wide noses and their eyes are round and large, sometimes almond shaped. The eyes come in a rare, short range of colors, from dark blue, brown, green, and yellow.

The most common color that being black is a trait only known to their kind, giving them a rather unique, but unsettling appearance. The mouth of a selechiia is big, able to stretch pass their eyes, and holds either one or two rows of triangular teeth from front to back. Their powerful jaws, which can stretch out of their mouths, is capable of inflicting major bleeding. Unlike sharks who do not have visible ears, the ears of selechiia are long and extend backwards against the sides of their heads. These pointed ears can pick up the slightest of vibrations traveling through the densest of waters, making them one of the great hunters in their respected field. Selechiia have dorsal fins as well as fins located on their elbows and calves, they also sport long, shark-like tails that gives them swift acrobatic mobility when in the water.

Most of the selechiia are lean in build, this makes them extremely dexterous while in the water. There are some heavy built breeds like the zuxii of Zuxin that are more sluggish swimmers, but are great in strength and speed when they have enough momentum. These bulky bulls are able to rival that of the urskin of the cold Elaska. It is known that few kin can survive the harshness of the icy terrain of Elaska, however selechiia and zuxii are known to withstand the cold due to their cold blood. Rather than hunt the tropical fish of their homeland, Lelia, the selechiia will swim all the way up North into elaskin land where they will encroach on the urskin's territory and take up their best fishing spots.
