The Kai

The Kai were born of the Gods that created Ein, classifying them as Demi-Gods within their own rights. They were the first born of Yara and her own children. The second to be born were those known as the volkari. The volkari are the children of both Yara and Malacath, but because Malacath was the father of corruption, Yara disowned her second born children. This disownment of her own children caused friction between the kai and the volkari, pitting them against each other that would lead into heated wars with one another. The kai, who saw the volkari as filth, wanted nothing to do with them and attempted to eradicate their species as a whole, but because the volkari were also considered to be Demi-Gods, they were not completely wiped out, though they would lose the battle for their right to live, forcing their kind into hiding. After the war had been won by the kai against Malacath's forces, the world was repopulated with the kai breeding with various apex, ultimately creating the beastkingdom of Ein. Much like their parents, kai are all born with wings and hair of white, depicting the epitome of purity with the mentality and behavior to accompany their holy visage. And much like their father, they carry a temper with them that no other can match. With the power to destroy cities and possibly nations with just a single swipe of their chosen weapon, the kai are rightfully revered. That is why praise is given to them by their predecessors in favor of the gift of life. Those who are grateful for the deeds done by the kai gladly give thanks to them through means of prayer. Imagery of the kai are placed all around Ein as statues, paintings, sculptures, shrines, and even idols. To rebuke worship of the kai is to be considered the work of Malacath and deemed as corrupted. Anything and anyone who gets in the way of the belief in The Devine Seven is considered evil and thrown at the blade of the ones who watch over the realm. After the fall of Malacath, the kai were tasked with guarding his prison located at the bottom of the alu in the Isles of Ikunda where he could never escape, not without aid. Decades later a sole kindle would cause the outbreak of Malacath who escaped his watery prison with the belief of others. It was this belief in him that kept Malacath alive and strengthened him to the point where he could be freed. One individual by the name of Ashanti would help cause the harmful events to occur when she used black magica to summon the dark lord and bring him to their plain of existence. She used her own essence of purity to “heal” Malacath before she would cast it into the swampy alu along with her faith in the Devine, fully embracing the path of corruption. With this act, Malacath was free, but could not outright challenge his brother and the kai at first. He needed more strength. During the time of rest, he copulated with the one who saved him, creating the beastkin species known as the varg. Armed with a new army, Malacath came to his brother with such animosity, that it was said to rattle the world itself. The two Gods battled once more with Malacath’s anewed strength giving him an edge over his younger brother, however the might and sheer will to protect by Kaiden and his children would win the war once more. His lover was beheaded before Malacath’s eyes and his varg children were burned to death with the survivors bound within a realm of holding. Faced with this, Malacath was forced into hiding, once more having to wait for the opportunity to strike back at his brother for his treachery, however that day would may never come for the kai diligently watches over Ein with vigil and spite for everything and all that is evil.
