Vulhund

The vulhund is a species that derived from an akin and an elderlock copulating. The elderlock were said to be creations of Malacath himself when it was in fact Mordakai, a volkari who first created the creatures and coined them as his own creation. The elderlock were known to be once hundin slaves whom Mordakai would prey upon. He took a handful of slaves and gave them his cursed blood in an attempt to sire his own legacy since he could not physically do it himself. He saw the potential use of the slave hundin and rather than feed on them, would cull them into his doing. Infected with the disease of decay and an insatiable hunger for blood, the elderlock are to maintain their feed on others to sustain their life else they shall parish under the harsh conditions of the sunar or from ailment. The vulhund are no different. One day, an elderlock would lay with his prey rather than feed thus resulting in the "winged hundin" Ein is known to have. This new species of beastkin would not be known around the world due to their cronic skin conditions an illness. They keep to themselves, hidden away within the forests of the Isles of Ikuda, where they were created, however, reports have indicated that they have spread across the sea from, passing through Volraia and onto Zuxin island by ship where they remain far from sight. There are other sightings of them from around the world that has been steadily rising throughout the years.

Like their sired species, the vulhund feasts solely on blood to sustain their hunger although a vulhund will eat just about anything from berries to that of the succulent meat of the hexoids. As ravenous looking and deadly they can be, vulhund do not consume the meat of other beastkin nor do they feast on the flesh of others like the kin before them. Rather than devour their prey, vulhund will suck the blood using their sharp hollowed fangs that have grown out of their mouths in a elongated curve, giving them an intimidating appearance. Despite this, the vulhund are not known to be overly aggressive or combative. They are still considered dangerous due to their nature to stalk and treat other beastkin like prey, always on the prowl for their next meal. They are not large in nature but carry a normal size like that of the akin, ranging from five foot zero all the way to seven feet tall in length and stature. They're commonly fit and athletic or petite and lanky, making it easier for the use of their wings which are massive and can easily span twice their height. Large, round-ish ears adorns their heads, a telling trait of their hundin background and their vocal use ranges from high pitches bays to that of short yips. This method of call is found to be used while hunting in the dark to better locate their prey for the vulhund are said to be blinded by the sunlight. These nocturnal beastkin prove to be fearsome foes when faced with danger and the need to protect themselves comes into play. Like a pack, vulhund are known to keep together in large families rather than houses. These families are called clusters and its this very nature of sticking to their own kind that keeps them a wonder of the mind.
