JAKUN

Jakun are a branch off species of the akinine species such as the volkin, vulkin, and hundin, and are usually found in the harsh deserts of Volraia, dead smack in the middle of the continent where it is hottest and driest. They get their name from the rare sighted akin race of the same deserts which means "sun wolf". The jakun species looks similar to the volkin on a surface level, however, they mostly have darker skin and stark yellow eyes that can range from brown to blue with the latter being the rarest sighting. Unlike the volkin, they do not sport horns but rather large, tall ears and sleeker bodies that house slender, long legs and tails. They are also smaller than the volkin as a species, but larger than the vulkin. They come in various fur colors when in their beast forms such as brown, sandy blonde, black, red, and sometimes a creamy color close to alabaster. These colors help them blend into their sandy surroundings and the thick coat helps protect them from the sandstorms that frequently happen throughout the hot deserts. While in their humanoid state, the jakun are a exotic sight. With skin color that range from the darkest of ebony to the lightest of browns. Their hair is often kept in dreadlocks as to further protect their heads from the scorching sun, however, it is not uncommon for their hair to be straight and often long, no matter the style.
